Dr. Sam Santoro

Dr. Sam Santoro joined Di Benedetto Solutions, Inc. (DBS) in 2025 as a per diem consultant. Samuel Santoro, D.O. was named President and CEO of Sutter East Bay Medical Group, affiliated with Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation, in 2011. In this role, Dr. Santoro helped guide the rapid growth, expansion and cultural development of the Sutter East Bay Medical Group, a multi-specialty medical group consisting of over 450 physicians and advanced practice clinicians covering more than 25 specialties, both ambulatory and inpatient. 

Dr. Santoro has more than 20 years of physician leadership experience at Sutter Health, previously serving as President/CEO of Sutter Regional Medical Group from 2002 to 2010 and Divisional Vice President of Sutter Medical Group-Solano Division in 2011. A board-certified OB/GYN physician, Dr. Santoro began practicing in 1987 with the Solano Regional Medical Group (SRMG) in northern California. He served as SRMG’s first Vice-President from 1995 to 2001 and became President and CEO in 2002. Following this appointment, he helped lead SRMG’s affiliation with the Sutter Medical Foundation and Sutter Health. 

Dr. Santoro holds a D.O. degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (Midwestern University) and board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his OB/GYN internship/residency while on active duty at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB. He is a fellow in the American College of OB/GYN, a certified Lean leader and a graduate of Sutter Health’s Leadership Academy. He is also a member of the California Medical Association (CMA), Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, the American Medical Association, and a delegate from the Large Group Practice Forum to the CMA.
